According to the statistics of the China Dyestuff Industry Association, in 2010, the output of dyestuffs in China reached 756,000 tons, an increase of 5% over 2009; sales revenue was 39.6 billion yuan, an increase of 10.9% over 2009, and production basically recovered before the international financial crisis. Production level. In 2010, exports reached 273,000 tons, an increase of 14.7% over 2009; exports earned US$1.175 billion, up 27.7%.

It is understood that China's dye production ranks first in the world, mainly due to the rapid growth of domestic and foreign printing, coatings, plastics, fibers and other related industries, the demand continues to expand. Taking organic dyes as an example, during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, the annual output of organic pigments in China was maintained at 18-22 million tons, accounting for about 40% of the world's total production. However, due to the low proportion of high-performance organic pigments, resulting in fierce competition in product prices and low profit margins, many companies export to OEM, the development level is not high.

According to relevant plans, by the end of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, the annual sewage and chemical oxygen demand emissions of the dye industry in China will decrease by another 10% on the basis of the end of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan,” accounting for approximately 15% of the total industry output, respectively. In the next five years, industrial upgrading, energy saving, pollution reduction, cleaner production, and comprehensive management will become major issues in the development of the related industries.
