China-Korea Cotton Textile Conference successfully held in Seoul, South Korea

The second China-Korea Cotton Textile Conference co-sponsored by the China Cotton Textile Industry Association and the Korea Textile Association was held in Seoul, South Korea, on April 20-22. The delegation of the Korean delegation headed by Cao Guiyu, president of the Korea Textile Association, and Xu Wenying, vice chairman of the China National Textile and Apparel Association, and Zhu Buna, head of the China Cotton Textile Industry Association, attended the meeting.

According to both parties, China and South Korea's cotton textile industry achieved good results in 2010, but they are now facing an uncertain industry situation. Xu Wenying, vice president of China Textile Industry Association, gave a comprehensive explanation of the overall status quo, issues faced by the Chinese textile industry, and the overall plan for the future. He also emphasized the need for extensive cooperation and exchanges with the ROK. The representative of the Republic of Korea reviewed the development history of the Korean cotton textile industry and described the experience of “how the cotton textile industry maintains sustainable development and enhances competitiveness in the context of rising costs and rising raw material prices”.

Zhu Beina analyzed the issue of cotton yarn prices in the Chinese market that South Korea is concerned about, and looked at the influence of market demand and policies at home and abroad on supply and demand. Both parties agreed that in order to actively respond to the rapidly changing market, it is necessary to grasp market information in a timely manner and correctly handle operational uncertainty.

During the meeting, the Chinese delegation also visited and visited the Korea Institute of Fiber Materials, printing and dyeing plants, weaving plants, and the National Textile Factory, and exchanged ideas with the business leaders on issues such as technology and development. The meeting provided a professional platform for exchange and display of cotton textile entrepreneurs on both sides.
