Identify if jadeite is twilight
I can identify whether the jade is twilight by the following four methods.
The first one: the texture of the twilight jade is relatively dry, and the moisturizing and transparency are lower than the natural red jade.
Second: After the high temperature treatment, the internal structure of the jadeite is destroyed, so when the twilight jade is knocked, the sound is dull and impenetrable.
The third type: Inspect the fine cracks of the jadeite by infrared spectroscopy. For natural jade, we can find the presence of adsorbed water in the two places of 1500~1700cm-1 and 3500~3700cm-1. However, the twilight jadeite is not evaporated to the presence of adsorbed water because the water is evaporated to dryness during heating.
The fourth type: the internal stone pattern of the natural red dragonfly will regularly extend in one direction. The twilight jade is thermally stimulated in a short period of time, so the stone pattern will be disordered or radial.
Mastering the above four methods is very useful for identifying whether jade is twilight.
